Climate bottom meeting
Parallel to the COP15, the climate summit in Copenhagen, we have completed a CLIMATE BOTTOM MEETING. During 14 days we presented ‘Windows of Hope’ which offered examples on how a number of sustainable cities and eco-village initiatives around the world meet the world's ecological, social, spiritual and economic challenges.
Performances of lectures, workshops, dances, and music were inspired by ceremonies of indigenous groups from all over the world. It is our hope that the fusion of indigenous knowledge and practices together with the modern societies will brings out ideas and impulses to accomplish Earth-friendly living.
The Climate Bottom Meeting offered workshops, presentations and political debates mixed with entertainment activities, such as singing, dancing and music. In addition, there were also a special youth forum and children’s program. Experts, lay people, and politicians offered lectures on a broad range of topics.
The Climate Bottom Meeting - Windows of Hope – took place the 5th – 18th of December 2009. The activities were carried out at Christiania, at The Meadow of Peace (Fredens Eng) and The Factory (Fabrikken) with the cinema The City of Lights (Byens lys).
